Sirius XM has a new satellite – should boost signals

Sirius XM’s new satellite is up and running. It launched at the end of the second quarter, but for a while was undergoing tests.

This satellite is different than others Sirius XM has out in space. It sits in a fixed orbit and is more powerful than Sirius XM’s higher orbit satellites.

“Drop-out” areas, where signal strength is compromised, should see improved reception.

Taylor from TSS radio told me this will help improve signal coverage—less “acquiring signal” messages—and you should be able to just stick it on in your windowsill and it’ll work fine.
