No Artie today, and maybe not for the whole week. Management told Artie to stay home and get better. Apparently he looked like shit last week. So Howard made his official statement. “Here’s what I want to say. I thought it through,” said Howard, “I don’t know what to say.”
UPDATE: Robin doesn’t think Artie is really seeing the shrink. He just keeps crow barring it in during the show to cover his tracks.

Artie is a lost cause and everybody should just move on.
He is not needed on the show. He is more of a detriment than a positive.

I don’t know about all that. We’re all hooked in, wanting to know what will happen next. Its compelling.
Plus when Artie is on the show and “on,” he’s still fucking awesome, even him just laughing (and wheezing) is great.

Eric The Midget actually said something on his twitter account about Artie being in rehab. At the time, I thought he was joking around or something. Heres what he wrote:

Why would management instruct Lange to take time out if his boss is not unhappy with his performance? Was there some incident at the station that we are unaware of? I do feel for Lange, but wow were those lies getting more and more out of control. 6 am doctor appointments, helicopter mike, a stone cold sober dui, ugh! Perhaps he is in rehab.

Arties a typical drug addict, a liar, who will lie about anything and everything to try and hide his habit. He’s lied the entire time, Howards gullable as fuck to keep buying his excuses everytime he skips work. Last time Fred handed him the excuse of having a “nervous breakdown” and Artie ran with it. “Thanks Fred.” The dudes a drug abuser of the severe kind. You can only understand those people if you were them or were very close to one. They will do anything to continue using, they will lie straight faced while looking you in the eye and not blink.
As long as Artie collects a paycheck while being allowed to use drugs he has no reason to quit. Unfortunately it takes something drastic, being fired as he was on MadTV, etc, to make an addict get serious help.
